Leonard Shepherd, age 52, of Holland and formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday November 1, 2009 at his home.
He was veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served in the military police and as a rifleman. He had many close and loving friends.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years and best friend of 30 years, Heidi Shepherd; his daughters, Eva Shepherd and Emily Shepherd; his brothers, Russell Shepherd and Dale and Laura Shepherd; his father-in-law, Ernest Sanders Sr.; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, JoAnne and Robert Jacobs, Ernest Jr. and Maria Sanders, Karen and Nick Christodoulou; many dearly loved nieces and nephews; and special goddaughter, Jessica Hooper.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday November 6, 2009 at the Mulder Chapel, Dykstra Life Story Funeral Homes, 188 West 32nd Street.
Visitation will be held Thursday November 5 from 6-9pm at the Mulder Chapel.
Burial will take place in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
