Surrounded by his family, Steve C. Miller, age 46, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Froedtert Hospital following a brain aneurysm.

Steve was born in Racine, January 20, 1966, the third son of Clifford and Coleen (Nee:Reinke) Miller. Steve graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1984.” He excelled in shop classes and found he had a talent for design and woodworking.

Steve briefly worked for St. Mary’s Medical Center and then as an over the road truck driver. Steve started his own business “S.C. Miller Custom Cue” and eventually went to work for Nova Cues. He became well known for the quality, beauty, and intricate detail of his cues locally and nationally as he was commissioned to design and build personal pool cues for the band members of Blind Melon as well as cast members George Clooney, Noah Wyle, Eric LaSalle and Anthony Edwards of the television show ER. On July 30, 1995 in Las Vegas he married the love of his life, Denise Deschler. Following Nova Cues Steve then worked for Woodmill Products for 12 years as a specialty woodworker and following their closing he worked for T.J. Hale Co and was currently employed at Nature Tech as the lead draftsman. Steve enjoyed chess, pool, the dog track, casinos, his beloved cat-Max, and going to Green Bay Packer games. He was a loving husband, son, brother, and uncle. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his wife of seventeen years, Denise; his parents, Clifford and Coleen Miller of Racine; brothers. Randolph (Lynne) Miller of Maple Grove, MN, Scott (Janice) Miller of New Berlin, WI; sister, Lori (Jesus) Huarota of Racine; nephews and nieces, Raphael Huarota, Kendra and Michelle Miller, Conner and Carson Miller; Jarrell Klimeck; father-in-law, Lee Deschler; brother-in-law, Keith (Laura) Deschler; other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Betty Deschler; and grandparents, Otto and Evelyn Reinke, Harold and Gertrude Miller.

A Memorial service will be held Friday, January 25, 2013, 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Reverend John Fleming officiating. Relatives and friends may meet at the funeral home Friday 5:00 P.M. until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family have been suggested.
