ALVESTEFFER - Leo G. Alvesteffer, aged 90, of Wyoming, went to be with his Lord on Monday, September 6, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dorothy Alvesteffer of Wyoming; his children, Jerry (Nicki) Alvesteffer of Jenison, Duane (Barbara) Alvesteffer of NC, Dan (Cathy) Alvesteffer of Muskegon, Greg (Barbara) Alvesteffer of Jenison, Darlene (Michael) Seger of Grandville; 15 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; two great great granddaughters; his brothers and sisters, Gerry Malburg of Hart, Ralph Alvesteffer of Muskegon, Gilbert (Clara) Alvesteffer of White Hall, Maxine (Paul) VanDyke of Conklin, Roseanne Gross of Holt, Louise (Harold) Schaner of Hart, Lornella Faucher of Muskegon, Charlene Birkman of Hart, Judy (Howard) Haight of Ludington; his sisters-in-law, Valeria Alvesteffer of Hart, and Clarabelle Huston of Muskegon. Leo was a WW II veteran of the US Army and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW, with Fr. Peter Omogo celebrant. Entombment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Members of the family will receive relatives and friends at the Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Chapel (Wyoming), 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. A Rosary Service will be held Wednesday at 8:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Vianney Catholic Church.
