Onnie Brink

BRINK - Onnie Brink, aged 91, of Caledonia, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, September 2, 2010. Onnie leaves a legacy of love to all his family and friends. He was a mentor to the young and old. His love for the Lord, his beloved wife of 68 years, Fern, family, friends, and nature, has left us with treasured memories. He will be sadly missed by all. Onnie is survived by his wife, Fern; his children, Ron Brink, Cheryl (Ken) Haverdink; his grandchildren, Sherri (Don) Cernia, Terri Schrier, Todd (Trisha) Brink, Amy (Greg) Veltema, Angela (Joe) LaCombe, Beth (Darren) Schultz; great-grandchildren, Kristin (Ken), Jeff (Heather), Kurtis, Brett, Brandon, Kyle, Ryan, Morgan, Maisie, Delaney; one great great granddaughter, Madelyn; a sister, Carolyn Boersma; many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Larry; a sister, Ella Lobbezoo; brothers, Gerrit, Koop (Henry), and Karl. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Railside and Spectrum Hospice for the love and care given to Onnie. The Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 7, at Moline Christian Reformed Church, 4341 Chappell St., with Rev. John Ouwinga officiating. Interment in Hooker Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Onnie may be given to Wayland Ambulance or St. Jude Hospital.
