Lorraine Hamel

HAMEL - Mrs. Lorraine Hamel, age 89, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 9, 2010. For 20 years she worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Spectrum-Health Blodgett. Mrs. Hamel is survived by her son, Bruce and Michelle Hamel of Rockford; daughter, Claudia and Thomas Courtright of Hudsonville; grand-children, Stephanie and Bill Evans, James Hamel, Emily and David Klooster, Amber and Paul Graeser; great grandchildren, Nathaniel Evans, Zachery Evans, and the much anticipated arrival of one more; brother, Raymond Zeeff; sister, Dorothy and Vern Thornton; sister-in-law, Mrs. Margaret "Betty" Langeler; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hamel on February 28, 2000, and her sister, Margaret Zylstra. The service for Mrs. Hamel will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Pederson Funeral Home with Pastor David VanHuisen officiating. Interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
