Beatrice G. Ackles

Beatrice G. Ackles, age 86, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2007 at her home. She was born September 21, 1921 in Lansing, the daughter of William Earl and Hilma (Keckonen) Space and was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area.

She enjoyed baking, sewing, knitting and weekly cookouts on the shore of Sherman Lake.

On July 27, 1940 she married Ardon L. Ackles, who preceded her in death on May 17, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Victor and Paul Space; a sister, JoAnne Kaspin; and a grandson, William Massey.

She is survived by her children, Andra Lee (Jerry) Kajcienski of Denver, CO and Arend (Cheryl) Ackles of Delton; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine (Edward) Bielecki of California; a brother, William (Dolores) Space of Montana; and a sister-in-law, Mary Brandibis of Christopher, IL. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 12:00 p.m. in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek St. with interment following at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 11:00 a.m.
