Yvonne Lucrezia (Hearn) Lindsey died at home with family after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 5 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was 66. Yvonne was born on August 17, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on August 25, 1966. She loved teaching others the Bible. In 2015, she retired from Kalamazoo Public Schools where she had worked as a behavioral support specialist. Yvonne was a generous, positive and determined person who always had a smile even after she became ill. She prioritized caring for her family and was an amazing mother. She enjoyed making jewelry and giving it to others. She always had fun dancing and loved cats. She enjoyed giving compliments and helpful advice. She greatly appreciated all the loving care she received. She is survived by daughters Melody and Dana Lindsey; mother Claudia Hearn; brothers Kevin Hearn and Prentis (Margaret) Hearn; and sister Tabitha Stewart; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her sister Sherry Hearn, brother David Hearn and father Albert P. Hearn. The memorial service will be held on Saturday July 29, 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4200 Nazareth Rd. Kalamazoo, MI. 49004. Arrangements were handled by Whitley Funeral Home.
