Wilma passed away June 1, 2015 in Kalamazoo. She was born September 23, 1919 to Clarence and Eva (Burt) Livingston being the last of twelve children to pass on.

October 16, 1937 she married Gilbert H. Slesdet. For 20 years, Wilma drove a school bus for Plainwell Public Schools then she went on to drive the bus for the Borgess School of Nursing and retired from there.

Wilma was one of the first women in the Plainwell area to own and operate her own motorcycle for many years.

She was a true farmer’s wife, tilling the land, planting the crops, harvesting the crops, milking the cows, and riding horses. She did everything a farmer would do and then some.

Preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert in 2008, a grandson in 1969, her parents, eight brothers and three sisters.

She is survived by her daughter Dorothy (Jim) McNees, granddaughters; Marla (Kevin) Folk, Theresa (Todd) Rogers, four grandchildren; Jeff & Lauren Folk, Tasha & Jonathan Mclaughlin; two step grandchildren: Samantha and Evan Rogers and a great great granddaughter Ciara, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no funeral or a memorial as this was her wishes. Cremation has taken place and she will be laid to rest in Cooper, MI.
