Wilma DeVries

Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at the age of 91. Wilma was born June 26, 1927 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Henry and Nellie (Emaar) VanTuyl. On August 11, 1947 she was united in marriage to Fred DeVries, who preceded her in death on December 11, 1998. She was also preceded in death by a son, Fred Richard DeVries; her brothers and sisters, Ruth Scheurwater, David VanTuyl, Martha Woods, Peter VanTuyl and Konnie Kabboord; great-grandchildren, Alex DeVries and Carolyn DeVries. Wilma is survived by her children, Carol (Gijsbert) VandenBogerd, Henry (Sue) DeVries, Kathy Doezema, Patricia (Edwin) Sweetman, Robert (Henrietta) DeVries, Marilyn (John) Vergunst, Konnie (Kees) Kleppe; 39 grand-children, 99 great-grandchildren. Friends may meet the family from 8:00-9:30pm Sunday, December 16, and from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm, Monday December 17, at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Services will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, December 18 at the Westside Chapel. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
