William Thompson

Thompson, William 4/26/1935 - 11/17/2016 Kalamazoo, MI William (Bill) Thompson, age 81, of Kalamazoo, passed Thursday, November 17, 2016, due to complications of Myasthenia Gravis. Bill was born on April 26, 1935, to the parents of George H. (Harry) and Alice M. (Dryer) in Jackson, MI. He married Angeline M. Haylett on October 30, 1953. Proudly served our country in the National Guard. He worked in car/truck sales, retired from Century Buick at age 71. He enjoyed volunteering at Borgess Hospital for 8 years, and as a greeter at Meijer. Survived by wife, best friend Angie, sisters in-laws, brothers in-laws, Diana and John Haskins, Shirley and Gene VanRhee, nieces and nephews, and their families. Also "honorary nieces and nephews ", "Uncle Bill" to the Jackson 3, Grandad to Zac, friends and neighbors. Memorials to charities of choice or Christian Neighbors. Informal gathering to swap stories at Rhino's in Plainwell, for Bill's favorite $2.00 burgers and drinks, on 11/28 from 1-4 p.m. Cremation has taken place.
