William G. Dastrup, age 70, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at Ascension All Saints Hospital. William was born in Racine, July 18, 1946, son of the late Charles and Dorothy (Nee: Sura) Dastrup.

William attended William Horlick High School then proudly enlisted with the United States Army stationed in Germany. He was employed for thirty-seven years by Bosch Company, last working at Nestlé for ten years. An avid sports fan, William belonged to several bowling leagues, played on Bosch’s softball team, and was a golfer. More than anything he cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He will be deeply missed by his children, Michelle (Rick) Peterson, Amanda Dastrup; his three grandchildren, Rick Peterson, Kimberly “Clark”, and Trey Gadsden; his great-granddaughter, Makenzie Peterson; brother, Martin Dastrup; former wife and best friend, Ruth Dastrup; special nieces, Nicole Girolamo and her son, Christian and Kristyl Marten; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Dorothy Morano.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 6, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. Interment with Full Military Honors will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover.
