William "Bill" VanOosterum

William "Bill" James VanOosterum, age 59 of Vicksburg, entered the arms of Jesus on April 19, 2022 at home, worshiping and praying the Lord's Prayer as he transitioned to his heavenly home, with his wife by his side. He was born on October 6, 1962, in Kalamazoo, the son of Dick and Jane (DeYoung) VanOosterum. Bill was a graduate of Kalamazoo Christian High School and attended Western Michigan University. He worked previously for Superior Color Graphics and finished his career as a manager at Crystal Flash. Bill enjoyed building relationships with others through church, his golf league, family gatherings, and hosting friends. On December 13, 2014 he married the love of his life, Wendy Stevens. They enjoyed living on Indian Lake and their adventures usually took them to locations with water views as they enjoyed the company of family and friends. Bill loved his role as a grandpa and cherished time with his family which includes his wife, Wendy; his children: Daniel Bunschoten, Ashley Egresi, Brian Sheets, and Josiah Sheets; his 10 grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Judy VanOosterum; and several extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard VanOosterum. A celebration of life service will be held at 5:30 PM, Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Lighthouse Community Church, 4321 11th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, with Pastor Doug Swink officiating.
