Weslie Gibson, Jr.

Weslie Gibson Jr., age 76, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, died Monday, October 5, 2015, at Borgess Hospital. Weslie was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana on December 11, 1938, to Weslie Gibson Sr. and Inez Marie (Anderson) Gibson. Weslie dedicated his life and career to helping improve the lives of children. Weslie was a caring and compassionate father, grandfather, friend, and father figure to many children who were fortunate enough to know him. Weslie was preceded in death by his parents Weslie Gibson Sr. and Inez Marie (Anderson) Gibson, his sister, Alberta Wilson, his son, Jeffrey Gibson, his grandsons Weslie M. Gibson and Gary Underwood; and his loving wife of 27 years, Lois Marie (Carpenter) Gibson. Weslie is survived by his two sons' Weslie Gibson and Cedric Gibson; and his five daughters, Vernetta Gibson, Vernadette Gibson, Dorcilla Langston, Vicki Blackmon, Laura Pierce, a brother, Stephen Gibson; and numerous grandchildren, and great-grand-children. A memorial service was held on Thursday, October 8th, at Trenches Community Church, Kalamazoo, MI.
