Wayne R. Woodward, age 83, passed away on Wednesday December 2, 2015. Wayne was born in Racine on December 18, 1931, son of the late Richard and Matilda (nee: Johnson) Woodward.

During the Korean War, Wayne proudly served in the U.S. Army in the 169th Infantry in the 43rd Division. He was employed as a mechanic at Rexnord for many years and was last employed at Land-O-Lakes before his retirement. Previously, Wayne also worked with his friends at McFarland Auto Sales. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing and hunting.

He will be missed by his children, Scott Woodward (Barbie Jackson), LuAnn (Ronald) Hale, Therese (Raul) Guzman, Anthony Woodward (Dena Lane), Todd Woodward, Stephen Woodward (Donna Friso), Kevin Woodward, Mary (Abel Guzman) Woodward, James Woodward (Michelle Erdman); daughter-in-law, Norma Woodward; 27 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Wayne was also preceded in death by his son, Paul; his former wife and mother to his children, Elizabeth (nee: Ziolkowski); and twelve brothers and sisters.

There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Monday December 7, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. There will be a time of remembering at 6:00 p.m. followed by Full Military Honors. Private interment will be held at Sylvania Cemetery. Memorials to the American Diabetes Association have been suggested.
