Wayne Sanfilippo

Age 74, passed away at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI with family at his side November 24, 2018 due to a fatal car accident. Born on March 20, 1944 in Joliet, IL, Wayne attended Cathedral of St. Raymond & Joliet West High School. He was a hard-working, dedicated employee of Joliet's Wrought Washer MFG for 25 years until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph R. Sanfilippo, his mother Jane (Hendricksen) Wozniak and step-father Kasimir Wozniak. His uncles Peter Sanfilippo, Roy (June) Hendricksen and aunt Virginia (George) Pacini. Wayne, also known as the Professor, was an avid auction attendee and was quite a collector. He enjoyed traveling with his mother and friends for many years. He is survived by his brother Robert (Linda) Sanfilippo of Romeoville, IL, nephew Joel (Jessica) Sanfilippo & their 3 children great niece/nephews Alina, Benjamin and Cole Sanfilippo of Antioch, IL, his uncle Mike (Mary Ann) Sanfilippo of Berthoud, CO, best friend Jimmy Spicer of Portage, MI and numerous cousins and friends. A memorial gathering will be announced at a later date. Private interment will take place in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet, IL at a later date.
