Wayne Jeffery Elhart, age 60, of Holland, died unexpectedly Friday, March 27 in Holland.

Wayne attended Holland Public schools, graduating from Holland High School in 1972 and Northwood Institute in 1976. He was the owner and partner of Elhart Automotive Campus, retiring in the end of 2010. Wayne renewed his faith in his Lord in 2014.

He was a founding member and current corporate board member of Macatawa Bank, Past National Chairman of the Pontiac Dealer Council, Past President of the GMC Dealer Advertising Association, Holland New Car Dealers Association, Past Director of the Jeep Dealer Advertising Association, Better Business Bureau of Western Michigan and Macatawa Bay Yacht Club.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kathy (Van Dyke) Elhart, parents; Kenneth and Margaret Elhart of Holland, Barbara and Gene Davidson of Pentwater, MI., father-in-law, Julius Van Dyke of Holland, brother, Jeffrey (Cherie) Elhart of Holland, sister –in-law, Karen Homkes of Holland, brothers –in-law, Jeff Van Dyke of Zeeland, Jack Van Dyke and Kathleen Mc Coy of Zeeland, step brothers, Scott (Kim) Redman of Petoskey, MI., Mike (Helen) Redman of Vienna, Virginia, as well as nieces and nephews; Jake Elhart, Ben Elhart, Kurtis and Alyssa Homkes,( Jagger and Presley), Colin Redman, Sean Redman, Jazmine Redman and Mariah Redman.

A private memorial service will be held as well as a private memorial service at Elhart Automotive Campus for his fellow employees. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held later this year.
