Age 87, passed away November 24, 2017 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Warren was born September 19, 1930, in Bellows Falls, Vermont, the son of Warren and Adah (Bowhay) Houghton. During the Korean War he served our country in the U.S. Navy. On October 5, 1952, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth M. (Pike) Houghton. For many years prior to his retirement he was employed as a machine tool salesman. Warren was a member of the Oshtemo United Methodist Church and the Kalamazoo Downstreamers. He enjoyed camping, canoeing, gardening, collecting stamps and bird watching. Warren especially loved spending special times with his family. Surviving are his wife Elizabeth M. Houghton; two daughters Pam "Kye" (Gary) Krafft and Paula (Jeff) Boes; four grandchildren Megan (Theodore) Gould, Kevin Krafft, Adam Boes, Nathan (Jessica) Meister; two great-grandchildren Alyssa Gould and Carter Gould; a sister Ruth Buchholz. Warren was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother Dick Houghton. In accordance with Warren's wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00AM on Saturday, December 16th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. A memorial service to celebrate Warren's life will begin at 11:00AM Saturday, December 16th at the Westside Chapel with Pastor John Fisher officiating. Immediately following the service, friends are invited to join the family for a time of food and fellowship in the Westside Reception Hall. A private interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South. Memorials in Warren's memory may be directed to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
