Wanda Small

Small , Wanda Louise Kalamazoo, MI Passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the age of 84. Wanda was born in Cobb, KY on December 27, 1931, the daughter of the late Flora (Ladd) Cartwright. She was a member of Oakland Drive Christian Church. She had many hobbies and interests, which included traveling to Elk Lake, bowling and tennis. She was a very caring mother and grandmother and put her children and grandchildren first in her life. She was married to Philip R. Small on July 16, 1955; he preceded her in death on September 9, 2015. She is survived by three children, Karen (Greg) Hokenson of Kalamazoo, Ken Small of Rochester Hills and Chris (Todd) Hartman of Portage; seven grandchildren, Sarah (Eric) Therkildsen of Kalamazoo, Grace (Luke) Schneider of St. Paul, MN, Michael Hokenson of Kalamazoo, Jennifer (Matt) Henderson of Grand Rapids, Nikki Hartman, Joshua Hartman and Jordan Hartman all of Portage; six great-grandchildren, Clayton, Jeriah & Mathias Therkildsen and Olivia, Elizabeth & Julie Schneider; and baby Henderson is expected any day now. Friends may visit with the family from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, February 7th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., Kalamazoo, MI 49009. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 8th at Oakland Drive Christian Church, 7331 Oakland Drive, Portage, MI 49024. Pastor Jordan Kellicut will officiate with interment in Ft. Custer National Cemetery at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to Oakland Drive Christian Church or Kalamazoo Youth for Christ.
