Age 89 passed away on May 3, 2018, with family at his side. Walter was born in South Bend, IN, on September 29, 1928, the son of the late Walter II and Beulah (Miller) Adams. Walt was kind, generous and loving. He loved spending time with family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him. On September 22, 1949, he married Helen (Doyle) Adams who passed away in 1975. He was then united in marriage to Barbara (Fryling) Adams who preceded him in passing in 2016. Walt was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who worked hard to provide for his family. He retired from the Upjohn Company after 36 years. When not working he enjoyed camping in northern Michigan and wintering in Florida where he and Barb made many friends. He was also a loyal Tigers Baseball Fan. Walt had a strong faith and was a long-time member of Oakwood Bible Church and recently a member of Parchment United Methodist Church. Walt leaves behind the legacy of a life well lived! He is survived by his three children, Cheryl Case, Chip (Sue) Adams and Steve (Mary) Adams; a step-daughter- Cathy (Ken) Garnaat; many grandchildren, step grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was also preceded in passing by two step-children, Jimmy Morren and Candy Bennett; a grandson, Scott Kruithoff. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, beginning at 12:00 PM, at Parchment United Methodist Church, 225 Glendale Blvd. Parchment, MI 49004. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 11:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parchment UMC, c/o the funeral home.
