Vivian Pierce

Vivian P. "Vicky" Pierce, age 97, of Kalamazoo, MI died October 10, 2017. Vicky was born November 21, 1919 in Manhattan, KS to Charles and Elaine (Curtis) Gable. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1937 and married Forest C. "Fuzz" Pierce in 1940. Vicky worked as a secretary for the Federal Government until she retired in 1980. Vicky enjoyed traveling, bowling, golfing and reading. Vicky is survived by her son, Larry L. (Marilyn) Pierce; two granddaughters, Darcy (Josh) Hassing and Lori (Steven) Gilmer; three great-grandchildren, Mykenzie, Eryca and Carleigh Hassing; one sister-in-law Gloria Pierce and a half sister, Leona (Kenneth) Jordan. Vicky was preceded in death by her husband, Fuzz, in 1999 and a son, Jeff Pierce in 1966. Visitation will be Monday, October 16th, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Augusta Chapel, where funeral services to celebrate Vicky's life will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 17th. Interment will be held privately at Augusta Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Richland Community Center.
