Virginia Schroeder

Schroeder, Virginia C. Kalamazoo Passed away Friday morning, January 20, 2017. Virginia was born June 14, 1927 in Cleveland, OH the daughter of the late Victor and Garnette (Neal) Schroeder. She attended The Ohio State University and retired from the Federal Center in Battle Creek as a computer programmer. Virginia had a strong Christian faith and enjoyed playing golf. She was an accomplished artist both in black and white and oils. She loved sailing her own sailboat and traveling in the U.S. and Canada. Virginia lived in California for many years where she was an organist for her church. She was a compassionate woman donating to many charities. Virginia is survived by her brothers, Victor (Naomi) Schroeder, William Schroeder; nieces and nephews, Carolyn (Garnette) Gaus, Thomas (Denise) Schroeder, Eileen Grostic, Victor III (Diana) Schroeder; and her best friend, Bruce Budil. There will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or St. Michael Lutheran Church.
