Virginia R. Lemmien of Augusta, Michigan passed away October 1, 2017 at the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence in Battle Creek at the age of 96. She was born June 28,1921 the daughter of Vernon and Nettie (Livingston) Judevine in Palo, Ml. Virginia was a graduate of Palo High School, and attended Ferris State College. On October 6,1940, she married Walter Lemmien. Virginia and Walt made their home in Augusta, Ml where Walt was the Master Forester at the Michigan State University Kellogg Forest. Virginia was a Charter member of the Kellogg Extension Group affiliated with Michigan State University Cooperative Extension Service. She loved to sew and taught 4H sewing. She helped in the daily operation of the Kellogg Forest in its early development. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Nettie Judevine; her husband, Walter; her sisters Francis, Mildred, and Elfreda; and her good friend, Irwin Tiejema. Surviving are her brother, Dan Judevine of Phoenix, AZ; children, William (Cheryl) Lemmien, Gail (Dennis) Leinbaugh; grandchildren, Laura (Bill) Bandlow, David (Jenny) Lemmien; great-grandchildren, Amanda Hirleman, Cacey Hirleman, Ryan Lemmien and Kaylee Lemmien. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Augusta Chapel at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 13th where the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Galesburg Congregational United Church of Christ, P.O.
