Violet Sherwood

Violet Genevieve Sherwood, age 90, of Lawrence, MI passed away March 26, 2017. She was born August 17, 1926 in Comstock to the late Walter and Emma (Woodard) Wilson. She is survived by her five daughters; Sally (David) Parker of Mattawan, Susan (William) Forester of Kalamazoo, Mary (David) Miller of Oracle, AZ, Rebecca (Gerald) Bowler of Monterey, TN and Catherine (Wm. Selkirk III) Miller of Kalamazoo, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, one sister, Vernice Pacic, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, George Sherwood in 2016, her brother Vincent and four sisters, Virginia, Beverly, Helen and Grace. Violet was a devoted wife and mother, she attended the Baptist Bible Church in Lawrence and retired after 29 years from the Kalamazoo Regional Psychiatric Hospital. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, lake activities, the birds and nature. Violet enjoyed long walks with the family dog and her sister and neighbor, Beverly. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave, Paw Paw, with Pastor Tim Gunderson officiating. A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow at the funeral home.
