Life Story / Obituary
Veronica "Ronnie" Bellovary Cole, age 92, passed away peacefully at Elizabeth Residence. She was born in St. Benedict, Iowa, on December 1, 1922, to Joseph & Anna (nee Galvatski) Bellovary.
On October 26, 1946, at St. Rose Catholic Church, Ronnie was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Cole. They celebrated 57 happy years of marriage until Bob's death on November 28, 2003.
She will be greatly missed by her 5 children: Elena (Bob) Jones of Arlington Heights, IL; Janet Cole (Dave Brinker) of Catonsville, MD; Nancy Cole-Rice (Gary Rice) of Monona; Bob (Wendy) Cole of Racine; Bill (Kris) Cole of Menomonee Falls; 13 grandchildren: Lisa Jones; Cheryl (Mark) Sweeney; Gavin and Laurel Brinker-Cole; Rob and Nick Rice; Tanner and Sierra Cole; Brandy (Matt) Stork; Jared (Jessica) Rusch; Ashley (Bill) Nabbefeld; Brandon and Stephanie Cole; 12 great-grandchildren: Jonathan, Alyssa, Dawson, Skylar, Brandon, Gage, Jared Jr., Carsyn, Sarahbeth, Faith, Jax and Kane; 1 sister: Mary Adzima; 2 sisters-in-law: Betty Costabile and Flora Bellovary, both of Racine, numerous extended family and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased in death by 5 brothers: Joe, John, George, Frank and Lou and 2 sisters: Ann and Betty.
Ronnie was a graduate of Park High School and a lifelong resident of Racine. She worked at Insurance Planning Consultants for 22 years, retiring in 1995. She was a woman of strong faith and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for more than 60 years.
Ronnie had open arms and a loving heart, always looking for a way to help others. She loved spending time talking and laughing with family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and hosting family gatherings. She was proud of her Hungarian heritage.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 9th, 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., Racine. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home Friday from 4 – 7 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
