Thomas H. Price, age 71, of Kalamazoo, MI received his orders to guard the pearly gates of Heaven on Saturday, February 18, 2017. He was born on December 24, 1945 in Kalamazoo, the son of Henry and Isabel (Blake) Price. Tom was a 3 tour veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving almost 8 years during the Vietnam Conflict. He was recognized many times by the Marines earning several commendations, including 12 campaign ribbons, the Silver Star, and 2 Purple Hearts. On January 30, 1971, Tom was united in marriage to Marie Mengel. He owned and operated Tom's Rooter Service in Kalamazoo for many years until his retirement. Surviving are his wife of 46 years: Marie Price; their two daughters: Denise Price of Galesburg and Deborah (Andy) Campbell of Otsego; four grandchildren: Samuel Matties II, Logan Matties, Matthew Corliss Jr, and Taylor Corliss; two brothers: Robert (Shirley) Price of Kalamazoo and Timothy (Maureen) Price of Virginia Beach, VA; sister: Judith (Neel) Zoss of Holland; step-mother: Betty Price of Kalamazoo; and two aunts: Madeline Yale and Marilyn Smith both of Kalamazoo. Visitation will be from 2-5 PM on Sunday, Feb. 26, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. A service to celebrate Tom's life will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, Feb. 27, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Disabled American Veterans.
