Hiatt, Thomas David Mattawan Passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the age of 69. He was born in Kalamazoo on July 3, 1947, the son of the late Roy and Virginia (Stimpson) Hiatt. He was employed as a Pipe Fitter for the James River Company (Graphic Packaging), retiring after 44 years of service. He loved music, was an avid Corvette enthusiast and loved working with computers & electronics. Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl "Cherry" (Hunt) Hiatt; his step-daughter, Brandy Hunt; one sister and three brothers, Margaret James, Bill (Sarah) Hiatt, Michael (Rick Akin) Hiatt and Richard Hiatt; two special nieces, Lori (Mike) Laughlin and Kim (Tom) LaPrise; two nephews, Chad (Pam) James and Jeff James. He was preceded in death by one son, Brandon; and one niece, Karen. Friends may visit with the family from 10 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. The memorial service will follow the visitation at 11 a.m., with Msgr. Michael Hazard officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the ALS Association or Great Lakes Hospice.
