Thomas Crawford

Thomas Wesley Crawford, age 66, of Jacksonville, FL was born in Kalamazoo, MI to Richard Crawford and Mary Ellen (Koontz) Malmgren. He was a long time resident of both Lansing and Kalamazoo. A Western Michigan University graduate, Tom was retired from the State of Michigan where he worked for 35 years. His work included 20 years at The Kalamazoo Psychiatric hospital and at the Family Independence Agency. An artist and a lover of animals, especially dogs, Tom enjoyed many hobbies including random long drives, photography and hanging out with his son, Paul. Paul and Tom spent the last few years of Tom's life living together in Florida. Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Katheleen Wilson. He is survived by his sons Michael and Paul Crawford, sisters Eileen Barette (Al) and Shirley Jackson (Joe) and many nieces and nephews. Tom was loved by his family for his sense of humor, outrageous pranks and mischievous nature. The world was a more colorful place with him in it. There will be a memorial service Friday, January 27th at 1:00PM at New Day Community Church located at 3600 Nicholas Road, Kalamazoo MI 49004.
