Theora “Teddy” D. Karns, of Vicksburg passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the age of 61. Teddy was born on June 27, 1957 in Grundy, VA, and graduated from Loy Norrix High School in 1975 after her family relocated to Michigan. She was the daughter of Linden and Lois Edwards. On July 2, 2004 Theora married Thomas Karns in Marshall. She worked for over 15 years at the Kalamazoo Psychiatric Hospital as an LPN. She was especially known for her arts and crafts. Each year she would wrap presents with a nice bow and a homemade Christmas ornament attached. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Theora also loved cooking for family gatherings. She would cook such large quantities of food, that she would always be late, and it would take several trips to retrieve it all from her car! She is described as loving, nurturing, independent and was known to march to the beat of her own drum. She is survived by her parents, Linden and Lois Edwards; her husband of 14 years, Thomas; three children: Tonya (Andy) Taylor, of Portage; Lyndie (Brian Tassell) Wall, of Fulton; Conor (Jenny) Schaub, of CA, and their father Terry Schaub; seven grandchildren: Kasey, Morgan, Gracie Lue, Eric Thomas, Wyatt, Isla, and Oliver. She is also survived by her two sisters: Pam (Jeff) Foy, of Climax and Jenny Edwards, of Vicksburg; two brother-in-laws: Larry (Julia) Karns, of Battle Creek and Michael (Ann) Karns, of Tekonsha; two sister-in-laws: Donna (Dennis) Wintersteen, of Marshall and Becky (Rich) Simpkins, of MS; nephew and niece: Brendan Foy, of Climax, Alyssa (James) Green, of Vicksburg, and their children Jaxon and Jayne; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and a very special companion: her beloved dog Geno.

In accordance with her wishes, Theora will be cremated and her ashes will be interred in a private ceremony at Fort Custer National Cemetery on Monday, November 5, 2018.
