Surrounded by his loving family, Theodore W. Brunnelson “Buddy, Bubba, Theo, Teddy”, age 70, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Racine, June 21, 1945, son of the late Charles and Mildred (Nee: Hughes) Brunnelson.

Ted was a graduate of William Horlick High School. On July 1, 1978, in Racine, he was united in marriage to Janice L. Bennett. He was a longtime member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church and became a Stephen Minister in 1992. Ted was employed by Tree Tool and Die for many years and then owned and operated Buddy’s Service. Actively involved in several community organizations, Ted served as past Master Mason of Masonic Lodge #18, was a member of the Tripoli Shrine and was a Shrine clown. He was a beloved youth basketball coach at Douglas Park, and was the proud recipient of the 1998 Dan Johnson Community Advocate of the Year Award. An avid sports fan, Ted also enjoyed coin collecting, playing cribbage, was a loyal confidant and deer lover. Most of all he devoted and treasured time spent with his family.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of thirty-seven years, Jan; his children, Steven Brunnelson, Maggie (Ryan) Jagel and their daughter, Maran; brothers and sister, Dave Brunnelson, Carol Bressette, Chuck (Sharron) Brunnelson, Byron Brunnelson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Jana, Lottie, and Robert.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016, 1:00 P.M. at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 1015 Four Mile Road, with Rev. Michael Mueller officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. (Masonic Service at 7:00 P.M.) and Saturday at the church from 12:30 P.M. until time of service at 1:00 P.M. Private interment will be held will be held at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Memorials to the National Kidney Foundation or one’s favorite charity has been suggested.
