The Rev’d Antoine Linterieur

October 10, 2018, age 78 years. Preceded in death by his parents Louis and Marie Lintereur and sister MaryLou (B.L.) Porterfield, and nephew, James Porterfield. Beloved brother of Louis (Frieda) Lintereur. Further survived by a niece, 8 nephews, other relatives and special friends.

Brother Antoine spent eleven years in the Capuchin Monastery. He earned a Masters in Education and in French Literature as his Diplome Superieur (tres honorable) from the Alliance Francaise in Paris. He was a teacher in the Milwaukee Public Schools for thirty years, working in the Superior Ability and Gifted Programs beginning in 1974. He was the first Chairman of the Board of Directors of Harambee Community School and chairman of the Board of Directors of consumer Satisfaction Team. I 1984 he was named a Fellow by the National Endowment for the Humanities. He was ordained June 3, 1990, was a Master of Ceremonies at All Saints Cathedral, and a Latinist for the Sacred Tribunal of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Milwaukee – a task dear to his heart. He served as Episcopal Chaplain for the Mental Health Division of Milwaukee County since 1991, was a founder of Our Space, Inc., a psychosocial organization, and conducted support groups for individuals with mental issues. Brother Antoine battled bipolar disorder for over 60 years, but dealt with the obstacles associated with the illness, living a life of prayer, study, and service to others.

Friends may pay their respects at the Suminski / Weiss Funeral Home, 1901 N. Farwell Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53202 on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at The Cathedral of All Saints, 818 E. Juneau Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53202 Private interment Calvary Cemetery.
