Terry Sturgis of Martin passed away September 13, 2015 at his home surrounded by family. Terry was born on May 9, 1948 to Ted and Alice Sturgis. As a Vietnam veteran, Terry served his country proudly. A funeral service was held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Terry’s family includes his wife, the love of his life of 47 years, Marcia; their children: Jarrod Sturgis (Fiancé Tami Brown), Jill (James) Harris and Joe (Jessi) Sturgis; Nine grandchildren: Matalyn (Dylan) Rowe, William, Abigail, Amanda, Taegan, Torryn, Chloe, Riley and Justin; One great grandchild, Vera; Tami Brown’s two children: Taylor and Morgan; one sister Sandy, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Vicki Sturgis and granddaughter Ilah Ann Sturgis. Terry was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders and served as the Martin Township Supervisor for 15 years. He played drums in bands since the 60’s, enjoyed his race car and wintering in Florida with his family. Terry was a wonderful, giving man; an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was loved and respected by many and will be missed by all.
