Terry M. Mishler, age 79, of Kalamazoo, MI entered his eternal life Thursday afternoon, December 29, 2016. The son of Roy and Audrey (Bare) Mishler, he was born in Plymouth, Indiana on June 25, 1937, and lived his entire early life in the Fulton/Marshall county area. He graduated from Aubbeenaubbee High School in May 1956, and in the same year enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving 4 years, including 18 months in Germany. After his discharge from the military, Terry attended Ball State University, earning a B.A. Degree and later his M.A. in Education which led to employment in the Culver Public School System teaching industrial Arts for 30 plus years. After moving to Kalamazoo, Terry found great joy and fulfillment serving in our First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Martha L. (Overmeyer) in 1995; and a brother, Dennis Mishler in 2008. He leaves behind his wife, Sharon Dougan and four children, Kim (Tom) Bontrager of Sturgis, MI, Tod (Wendy) Locey of Kalamazoo, Jill (John) Grisdale of New Albany, OH, and Jeff (Kat Vigness) Locey of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Catharina, Jack, and Faith; two brothers, Lynn (Jan) Mishler of Leiters Ford, IN and Larry (Jennifer) Mishler of Indiana; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock Saturday, January 7th at the First United Methodist Church, 212 S. Park St. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Private burial will take place in Leiters Ford Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center or Rose Arbor Hospice.
