Suzanne Klont

Suzanne Kay Klont died Tuesday, July 14, 2020 in Kalamazoo, MI after a long illness. She was born December 12, 1943 in Lansing, MI a daughter of Horace and Opal (Rosebury) Burgess. Sue spent most of her adult work career as a Medical Assistant to a Lansing surgeon. Upon retiring from her Medical Assistant career, she moved into a Management position with the Michigan State University Infectious Disease Division. In 2000, Sue and Jerry moved to Kalamazoo to be closer to family. Throughout the remainder of her years, she served in a variety of volunteer positions with Gracespring Bible Church and the Response Care Ministry in Richland MI. She could always be found at any and all sporting events that her grandchildren were playing in. She had a variety of interests and hobbies and took great joy in being active. She was a faithful and loyal friend and everyone who knew her loved her spunk and sense of humor. On August 13, 1963 Suzanne married Jerry J. Klont who preceded her in death on March 21, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sandra Alchin. Suzanne is survived by her children, Nicki (Stan) McDonald and Russell (Tanya) Klont; grandchildren, Rebecca McDonald, Ryan McDonald, Vance Klont, Carter Klont, and Quinn Klont; brother, Brian (Sharon) Burgess, and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place at Langeland Family Cremation Center. Private graveside services will be held in Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Gracespring Bible Church – Response Care Ministries www.gracespringchurch.org. There will be an Outdoor Open House honoring Sue at 6495 Twilight Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI from 1:00 – 4:00pm on Tuesday, July 28th.
