Susan Mazer

Susan Wynne Mazer, age 62, of Dunedin, FL died Saturday, September 2, 2017, Susan Wynne Mazer went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Born on October 5, 1954 to Dr. Gilbert and Joyce Mazer in Cleveland Ohio, Susan lived in Washington, Illinois, Arizona and North Dakota with her family while her father was a university professor completing his graduate degrees. In 1965, the Mazer family settled in Kalamazoo where Susan resided for 35 years. She attended Loy Norrix and Kalamazoo Central High School, where she graduated in 1972. Susan then attended WMU for 2 years and realized her passion was in art and became a successful hair dresser. She was compassionate, creative, talented and gifted with a flair for art. Susan enjoyed the beauty of this world and became a Master Gardener. She loved the sun, the beach and warmer climates and moved to Florida in 2001 where she acquired an amazing group of loving and caring friends that became her family away from home. She loved her dog Sunny, and he brought sunshine and happiness into her life. Susan bravely battled cancer for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Gilbert Mazer; step-mothers, Mary Elaine Mazer and Marcia Mazer; step-father, Linden Griffin; and nephew, Travis Mazer. Susan is survived by her mother, Joyce Griffin; sister, Eva (Jeffrey) Spencer; brother, Kevin (Wendy) Mazer all of Kalamazoo along with nieces, Mallory Mazer, Jersey City, Madison Mazer, Kalamazoo; nephews, Taylor Mazer, Grand Rapids, Trent (Kaitlin) Mazer, Wyoming, and Tate Mazer, Ann Arbor.
