Susan M. (Klees) Ledvina, beloved wife, daughter, sister, and step-mother, departed this life on January 3, 2016. Sue was born in Columbia, South Carolina on August 8, 1944 to Warren and Shirley (nee Hanson) Klees. She worked for Wisconsin Bell for twenty-nine years. She met her future husband, Robert J. Ledvina, at work, and they married on October 2, 1981, after a long courtship. They purchased an historic home in Racine, and they lovingly restored it over the years. After her retirement, Sue worked for several years as a teachers’ assistant for the Racine Montessori School at the Dekoven Center.

Sue was a consummate knitter, and she also was skilled in needlepoint and crochet. She stockpiled yarn, collected needles and hooks and made intricately designed items with creativity and love. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and Mensa International. She was a lover of animals, especially cats. She cherished time spent with her family. She was a patient and gentle soul, and she loved to laugh.

Sue is survived by her husband, Robert; mother, Shirley Klees; sister Sally Ann (Donald) Passehl, nephew Leighton Klees-Passehl, step-daughters Patricia (Gary) Himes, Ellen (Jerry) Garland, cousins, nieces, nephews and two step-grandsons. Her father, Warren Klees, preceded her in death.

A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, Sue hopes you will remember her by committing a random act of kindness.
