Susan Hensley

Susan C. Hensley, age 74, of Bangor, MI passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Borgess Hospital, Kalamazoo, MI. Born October 26, 1941 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Sue was the daughter of John W. and Marian I. (Jay) Hinton. She lived in the Bangor area since 1967. Sue was incredibly active in her community through church, as a partial owner/operator of Lariat Lanes in Bangor, bowling instructor for adult and junior leagues teaching for many years with the Van Buren Intermediate School District. Surviving Sue is her lifetime love and husband, Richard "Dick" Hensley whom she married January 6, 1962; 2 children, Daniel (Kimberly) Hensley of Grand Rapids, Nancy (Todd) Hite of Frostproof, FL; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, John and sister, Nancy. The family will meet friends, Friday 6-8 PM at the Bangor Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home and Saturday 10-11 AM at the Simpson United Methodist Church Bangor, where the Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Mona Joslyn officiating and a reception immediately following. According to her wishes, cremation will follow. The family suggests memorials be made to the Simpson United Methodist Church.
