Susan Hageman ne Luibrand died after a battle with cancer in Columbia, SC on June 28, 2021 at the age of 62. Sue was born on February 1, 1959 in Detroit, MI to George and Judy Luibrand. She graduated from Western Michigan University in 1981 with a Bachelor's Degree in business with an emphasis in accounting. She married Alan in 1980. Over several years, the couple welcomed three children into their home and Sue set about teaching them how to be kind and an example of patience and God's love. Her children remember her as a kind and gentle mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals and who was always positive. Sue was accomplished at cross stitch and baking cookies. She was a generous individual who loved giving back to others and who was passionate about loving her family. She was a dedicated member of the St. John Neumann Parish, volunteering to teach CCD throughout the years. Sue is survived by her husband, Alan; her children, Kathleen, Tracey, and Megan; her sons-in-law, Christian and Andrew; her grandchild, Liam; her mother, Judith Luibrand; and her siblings, Michael, Annette, Karen, and Diana. She is preceded in death by her father, George Luibrand. Visitation will be at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Rd, Columbia, SC on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. A funeral mass is scheduled for Friday July 2, 2021 at 11:00am at St John Neumann Church, 100 Polo Road, Columbia, SC 29223, with a reception to follow at Wildewood Country Club, 90 Mallet Hill Rd., Columbia SC 29223.
