Sue Weir

Weir, M. Sue Kalamazoo Age 63, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 5, 2016 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Sue was born in Kalamazoo on March 15, 1953 to the late Jim and Virginia (McGowen) Bailey. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her brothers, Bob, Greg, David and Glen Bailey. She retired from Kalamazoo and Van Buren Counties as a counselor for Veteran Services. She was a 35 year member of the Women of the Moose. Sue was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and traveling with her husband. At age 50 she learned to rollerblade. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. On October 22, 1988 she married John M. Weir who survives. Also surviving are four children, Julie (Ted) Gower, Ginny (Tim) Merrill, Mary and Jack Weir and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Grace Harbor Church, 811 Gorham Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49006, with Pastor Bill Ferguson officiating.
