Steven Mannes

Passed away peacefully Friday morning, August 31, 2018. Steve was born March 17, 1954 in Holland, MI the son of Ken and Nina (Streur) Mannes. He worked for Delta Design Systems for nearly 20 years as a supervisor and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends. On June 12, 1976 he was united in marriage to his loving wife Carolyn (Walker), who preceded him in death in 2005. He was also preceded in death by his father, Ken; and a brother, Kim Mannes. Steve is survived by his children, Kelly (Mark) Meldrum, Kari (Aaron) Simmons, Joshua (Alyssa) Mannes; 4 grandsons, Lincoln, Elijah, Ki, and John; his mother, Nina Mannes; brothers, Greg (Elaine) Mannes, Jeff (Annamae) Mannes; and several nieces and nephews. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Steve's life will be held at 11:00am Thursday, September 6 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. Friends may meet the family Thursday morning from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service. A luncheon will follow the service in the Langeland Family Center. Private interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
