Steven L. Bristol

Passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 in Bloomingdale, with his family by his side. Steve was born on May 28th, 1945 in Traverse City, the son of Richard and Helen (Cox) Bristol, and lived in Bloomingdale the last 30 years. He retired from the Department of Mental Health after 32 years of service and was also a veteran of the United States Army. He loved spending time just being outside, listening and playing music, especially on his guitar with his family or anyone else that was around. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Surviving is his wife of 30 years, Lou Ann (Flinn) Bristol; his children, Tony (Debbie) Bristol of Jackson; his daughter, Emily (Max) Bristol of Plainwell; his grandchildren, Billy and Kristy; his great-grandsons, Landon and Simmy; his mother-in-law, Rosie Flinn; and a special friend, Marty. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Eric. The family will meet friends Friday, November 9th, 2018 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the Bloomingdale Chapel, D.L. Miller Funeral Home, www.dlmillerfuneralhome.com, where the service will follow at 11 AM. Burial will follow the service at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to: Alzheimer's Association, the South West Region.
