Steven Carson Hildreth of Littleton, Colorado, passed away peacefully at home on July 12, 2021. He was born on December 17, 1943 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late Roscoe Carson Hildreth, M.D. and Irene Laura (Severance) Hildreth, R.N. Mr. Hildreth graduated from Loy Norrix High School in Kalamazoo in 1961. He attended Colorado College and went on to graduate from Oregon State University in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management. He then returned to Colorado to complete a Master of Science degree in Forest Genetics and Pathology at Colorado State University in 1969. Mr. Hildreth was a world renowned builder of custom outhouses, noted for their prized butternut seats. He holds several patents for his "right-sized" seats. He is survived by two daughters, Becky Lynn Hegedus, Littleton, CO and Darby Kay Kennedy, Highlands Ranch, CO; three grandchildren, Brandon Hegedus, Kayla Hegedus and William Kennedy; two sisters, Susan (Joseph) Cusato, Columbus, OH and Barbara Hildreth, Old Town, ME; former wife, Janet Hildreth, Bend, OR; sister-in-law, Linda Hildreth, Medford, OR; two cousins, Laura-jean Eckard, Dover-Foxcroft, ME and Rene Collins, Hermon, ME; along with several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Howard Hildreth, M.D. A memorial gathering will be held in Old Town, Maine at a later date.
