Stanley Kilbourn

Stanley H. Kilbourn of Bowling Green, KY passed away peacefully on Thursday October 12, 2017 at the age of 105. He was born November 22, 1911 in Vassar, Michigan to George and Anna (Hammersmark) Kilbourn. Stanley was a long time Detroit area resident, but lived many years in Kalamazoo before moving to Kentucky. Stanley was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years Virginia, three brothers (Adrian, Harold, and Thomas) and a sister (Althea). Surviving are his two children, Thomas (Leslee) Kilbourn of Kalamazoo and Carole ( Larry) Ledbetter of Bowling Green, Kentucky; two grandchildren Melissa (David) Iglehart of Louisville, KY and Michael Ledbetter( Thao) of Huntington Beach, CA.; great-grandchildren Harper, Aleyah, Rasia, and Chao Ledbetter; Brooke, Audrey and Lauren Iglehart. Stanley's family would also like to recognize Vickie Moran who as his long time caregiver, nurse, and therapist played a special role in his life. Her patience, compassion, and dedication these past ten years has earned our everlasting gratitude. Stanley worked as a Manufacturing Manager at the Federal Mogul Corporation Bearing Plant for 37 years followed by a 10 year career at the Michigan State Employment Office. Stanley loved working in his yard and his lawn was always the envy of the neighborhood. He was part of a State Championship Bowling Team, an avid stock market trader, and a lifelong Detroit Tiger Fan. A memorial service will be held in Bowling Green, KY at a future date.
