Broekema, Stan Castro Valley, CA Stan passed peacefully on February 15, 2018 from Hodgkins Lymphoma. He was born on May 4, 1941 and raised in Kalamazoo, MI and moved to California in 1972. He sold flooring for Conklin Brothers and then Direct Sales. He was an athlete helping to bring his basketball team to the State Championship in 1959 as well as still holding the record for the 100 yd dash at Kalamazoo Christian High. He was an avid sports fan. His recollection of sports stats was amazing. Stan was a spiritual man who served as a Deacon at Hayward Christian Reformed Church. He was passionate about his grandchildren Mary, Jake, Randy, and Suzette. Preceded in death by his son, Randy, his parents Jack and Gert, his brother: Dale (Irene). Surviving are his daughter: Debbie (Brian); grandchildren: Mary and Jake, Randy and Suzette, his brother Dave (Marilyn) Broekema, sisters Ruth (Fred) Rost and Jan (Harold) VanDyke; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law: Tommy (Marcia) and countless friends that he cherished. All services were held in California. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Hayward Kaiser Hospice, 30116 Eigenbrodt Way, Union City, CA 94587.
