Shirley Ann Lipford, age 82, of Bangor, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Shirley was born January 12, 1935, in Blytheville, AR the daughter of Leonard and Brucie (Barnes) White. Shirley married Marvin Lipford, Feb. 26, 1953 in Blytheville and lived there the majority of her life, until they retired to Mountain View, AR, and then moved to live with her daughter in Bangor, MI in Aug. of 2012. She was an artist and a poet. While in Blytheville, she enjoyed many community activities including the Mississippi County Writers Guild, Beta Sigma Phi sorority, Blytheville Women's Club, Women's Auxilary and was an active member of North Tenth Street Baptist Church, serving many years as Sunday School Teacher, and in the Women's Ministries. Surviving are her two children, David Lipford of Norfolk Lake, AR, Kerri (Dan) Zantello of Bangor, MI; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Lipford, Marcus (Amy) Lipford, Adam (Elise) Zantello, Annah Ruth Zantello; 8 great grandchildren, Courtney, Madison, Abby, Tori, Whitney, Ayla, Grace and Thomas Daniel; one sister, Mary Jane (Earnest) Allen of Mountain View, AR; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, in 2013; a son, Jon Alan, in 1977; a sister, Jacque Hardin; her brother, Robert "Bobby" White. The family will meet friends 6-8 PM on Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville, where the funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Friday. Interment will follow in Dogwood Cemetery, Blytheville. There will be a memorial service 6 PM Friday August 4, 2017 at the East Arlington Baptist Church, Lawrence, MI. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to North Tenth Street Baptist Church or Mississippi County Writers Guild. Arrangements entrusted to the Bangor Chapel, D. L.
