Surrounded by family, Sharon’s life journey ended on February 2, 2018 as she passed peacefully to her eternal life. Her life began on October 31, 1941 when she was born to Cliff & Marie (Nee: Speer) Durward of Bowbells, ND. The youngest of three children she graduated from Bowbells High School and Minot State University with an Associate degree in Education. She taught her first classes in Parshall ND. Her marriage to Charles E Murphy on June 2, 1962 and the births of her three children were the greatest joys of her life. Sharon joyfully followed Chuck on his adventures in the Army and Upper Education – from Ft. Lewis WA to Fargo, Minot, Grand Forks, Fargo, Milwaukee, Minnesota, New Hampshire and finally Wisconsin. She will be dearly missed.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 55 years of marriage, Charles Murphy and their three children, Tim (Beth) of St. Paul, MN, Kevin (Coni) of Delavan, WI, and Erin (Mike) McCarthy of Chicago, Il. She is further survived by her grandchildren, “The apples of her eye”, Elizabeth (Ryan) Quinlivan, Katheryn (Mitchell) Watkins and Charles Murphy, Seth, Zachary and Hailey Murphy, Liam and Keira McCarthy; a brother, Harley Durward of Bismarck, ND; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Cliff and Marie Durward, she was precedeed in death by her older brother Charles.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Sharon on Saturday, February 17, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring Street with Rev. Yamid Blanco officiating. Relatives and friends may gather one hour prior to Mass at the church. Memorials preferred to the family and will be directed to Sharon’s favorite charities.

In memory of Sharon plant a tree, smile at a stranger or laugh with a friend. That would please her!
