Sharon Duenewald

Sharon Dee Duenewald, age 73, of Mattawan, MI passed away on Sunday, August 14th, 2016. She was born on March 23, 1943 in Kalamazoo Michigan, the daughter of the late Jack Murray and the late Betty (Morrison ) Murray. She graduated from Mattawan High School in 1961. She attended one year of college at Western Michigan University. Sharon was married to Ed Duenewald on August 31, 1963. They then built their home together where they stayed for their entire marriage of 49 and years. Sharon was a stay at home mom for her two daughters until they started school. She then went to work for Mattawan Schools where she was a librarian at the elementary alongside her mother, Betty. She continued working there until she retired. Sharon above all loved spending time with her family and friends. She was very creative and besides celebrating every holiday, she made every day occasions special with her personalized decorations, crafting and fun ideas. Through the years she enjoyed square dancing, bowling, camping, playing games, cooking, gardening and canning. She loved having pets and they were like family to her. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Ed in 2013 and her daughter Debbie Dennis in 2014. Surviving are her daughter Darcie Richard ( Bill Wolgamood ) and her son in law, Scott Dennis. Private interment will take place in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. Langeland Funeral Home.
