Sharon Bolen

Bolen, Sharon K. Otsego, MI Sharon passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. She was born February 1, 1944 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Edsel and Mildred (Weaver) Hollingshead. Sharon graduated from Otsego High School in 1962. For over 40 years she worked at JBS until her retirement in 2019. Sharon loved playing the organ, bowling, gardening and cooking. She was avid sports fan especially football. She enjoyed watching stock car and ASA races and following Jeff Gordon and Bob Senneker. She enjoyed listening to country music, especially the Bronk Brothers Band, who she followed religiously. Sharon loved animals especially her dogs, Fritz, Marley, Mia and Suzy. In October 2005 at the Club Car Restaurant in Alamo she married John Bolen who survives. Also surviving are her sister, Sandy Brink, nephew, Brian Blaine and his daughters, Anna and Samantha, mother-in-law, Mary Ellen Meachum along with many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. Due to Covid-19 restrictions a celebration of Sharon's life will be held at a later time.
