Shannon James

Shannon Darlene James of Hulbert, MI passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI at the age of 54. She was born on September 11, 1962 in Albuquerque, New Mexico the daughter of Kenneth Pruitt and the late Sherry (Johnson) Pruitt. At age 3, she moved to Fairbanks, Alaska where she later met her husband, Mike James. Shannon was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. A beautiful sister in Christ, inside and out. She loved God, she loved her family, and she loved her country. Shannon took pride in being a wonderful homemaker and servant of the Lord. Shannon was actively involved in many different church works. She was a devoted wife for 36 years. Shannon was preceded in death by: her son, Benjamin and mother, Sherry. Surviving are: husband, Mike; daughter, Rachel Losey and her husband James; son, Joshua and his wife Jennifer; son, Daniel and his wife Breanna; sons, Andre and Jaylen; daughter, April; grandchildren, Camryn, Aya, Olivia, Hazel, Jebediah, and Lyla; father, Kenneth; brother, Perry; and sister, Cindy. Visitation will be from 11am-12pm on Friday, Oct. 14, at 20th Street Church of Christ, 122 N. 20th Street, Battle Creek, where a memorial service to celebrate Shannon's life will begin at 12:00 PM. Private interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Shannon's Go Fund Me page to assist with funeral expense.
