Sawako DeLorme

Sawako "Sunny" DeLorme, age 57, of Kalamazoo, formerly of Sturgis, MI passed away peacefully at Medilodge of Kalamazoo on Saturday, December 31, 2016 surrounded by family. Sunny was born on September 20, 1959 and raised in Tokyo, Japan. She moved to the United States in the mid 80's and began raising her two children. She spent many years in different cities among the states, but she particularly favored San Diego, CA where she resided for many years before moving to Michigan in the late 90's. She loved helping those in need, wearing her "tigger" costume, spending time with family and friends, and uncontrollably laughing. She touched the lives of many people with her contagious smile and unbreakable joy. She is survived by her son Shaun DeLorme (Kalamazoo) and his family, and her daughter Naomi DeLorme (Kalamazoo); and other family in Japan and Canada. A memorial service will be held in her honor from 1-3 P.M, Saturday, January 21st at Victory Baptist Church on 308 W Milham Ave, Portage MI 49024.
