Saul Reyes

Born to Sylvia Lopez and Jose Alberto Reyes on august 16, 1960 in Newark New Jersey, Saul Reyes grew up in Newark, New Jersey and Boston, Massachusetts. His siblings included Eliot, Maribell, Jonathan, JoAnne and Raymond.

As a child, Saul was very mischievous, very much so that it got him in trouble with the law. He was sent to live with his Uncle Tom in Wisconsin for a few years. While living in Wisconsin he came down with Rheumatic fever, becoming paralyzed for almost 2 weeks. Saul loved to go fishing, biking and learning new things. He loved to cook. He enjoyed the peace and tranquility of Beaver Dam. He enjoyed going to thrift stores and consignment shops to find treasures.

Saul loved to spend time with family and friends. He had two daughters, Christina and Brittney marie. While he didn’t have a close relationship with them, as he wanted, he loved them and was proud of them.

Saul was a collector of antiques, his favorite collection was of old toy trains. He had three rooms filled with trains, he loved showing his collections off. The Patriots were Saul’s favorite football team. He enjoyed listening to Bob Marley music, and his favorite movie was Scarface. Saul also loved to read books on antiques and collectibles. Saul’s most memorable trip was when he went to Puerto Rico for the first time. He was able to meet family and visit the town and surrounding area where his mother grew up.

Saul was kind and soft spoken. He was very humble, he loved animals and small children. He’d give you the shirt off his back. He loved to shop and buy gifts for his loved ones. He will be missed.

Saul Reyes passed away on December 26, 2017. He is survived by daughters Christina Brown and Brittney Marie Cottrel, his parents Sylvia and Ramon Martinez, and siblings Eliot (Gladys) Reyes, Sergio Reyes Fusco, Maribell (Abner) Collado, Jonathan (Anita) Reyes, JoAnne (Librado) Bracero and Raymond Lopez.
